Biography

Steven and Suzanne Barger have been active in the field of nature photography since 1990. They have developed their technical skills and personal creative styles while attending workshops and seminars presented by some of the most acclaimed nature photographers in the United States. Additionally, they have traveled throughout North America, South Africa, Namibia, and Arctic Norway to capture unique and dramatic images.

In recent years, Steven has been a field instructor and co-leader with Jerry and Barbara Jividen's "Naturally Wild Photo Adventures." As such, he has been involved in workshops in Florida, Alaska, Montana, Ohio, Colorado, and Tennessee. He has presented seminars on various photographic techniques, including "The Intricacies of Exposure Compensation" for the New England Council of Camera Clubs in 2005.

They have had articles published in F/8 & Being There, and Nature Photographer's Network. Several of their images were selected to appear in the 2006 and 2007 editions of the Expressions book published by the North American Nature Photography Association. Their images have appeared in Outdoor Photographer and can be found in The Loupe, a catalog of photo stories, marketed to photo buyers throughout the United States.

The Barger's images have been on display and for sale in several galleries throughout the country; their images have been used for web pages and advertising brochures. They also have corporate assignments and present slide shows to a variety of audiences, including camera clubs and nature/photography-oriented groups. They are members of North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA).
